When dear friends faced the shock and grief of losing their precious daughter, Gloria, my heart went out to them, unable to fathom the depth of their sorrow. But I know that, God “comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.” (II. Corinthians 1:4 — NIV)
Two other precious friends battled cancer in recent years, and won — even though it took them from us. It did not destroy their faith,
their peace, or their joy. For each of these situations my heart found
voice in songs of faith.
Dennis Cochrane, a faithful servant of the Lord, had to say goodbye
to his beloved wife after a long time of chemotherapy and radiation
treatments that did prolong her days but could not keep her here. His
response? He wanted to convey to the church what deep comfort he had
received from God! Truly, “in all these things we are more than
conquerors through him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37 — NIV)
These songs and this message have been gathered together into a bouquet
of praise to God, an offering to those who want to be able to give comfort.
